What is Alpenglow?

Alpenglow Veterinary Specialty + Emergency Center (AVSEC) derives its name from the reddish glow, or “Alpenglow,” often seen on summits of mountains just before sunrise or just after sunset.

Located in the heart of Boulder, Colorado, AVSEC recognizes in its name this golden hour of each day as a symbol of warmth and respect for the people, pets and natural landscape of this majestic Rocky Mountain region.

AVSEC’s practitioners convey compassion and tenderness for those they serve with the intention of promoting healthy living, the end of suffering and pain, and the promise of a new day and future healing to come.

The interplay of color and reflection and dependency of the sun and our mountain landscape in the natural phenomenon of alpenglow is also representative of how the doctors, nurses and staff at AVSEC work from a place of trust and integrity and as a team with clients, pets and family veterinarians.
